5 highlights of the pilgrimage music festival, day 1

Live music is back and maybe better than before. Saturday (September 25), Pilgrimage music festival in Franklin, Tenessee, has opened its open-air amphitheatres to music lovers of all ages. With an impressive lineup and a lovely venue, Pilgrimage proves that nothing brings people together like concerts and great food.
Read below for five of the American songwriter’s favorite moments from day one of the two-day festival.
1. MAREN MORRIS

Powerful country and member of Tall women, Maren Morris delivered a sensational performance that showed the depth of its lineup. Morris performed tender love songs with his acoustic guitar, then rocked the stage with a booming performance of his hit songs (“The Middle” was one!). Morris’s husband Ryan Hurd also appeared on stage and sang “Run after youAlongside Morris.
2. BETTER THAN EZRA

Better than EzraPilgrimage singer and founder Kevin Griffin thanked festival goers in the middle of the band’s set. A touching cry to the fans who have supported the band, and live music as a whole, throughout the past two years has sparked thunderous cheers.
3. POULTRY

Chicken mouth, the colorful alternative / indie band, never lost their connection with the crowd during their hour and ten minute set. Their last song, “Sedona”, Was an obvious fan favorite, as they sang the song loud enough to be heard half a mile from the venue.
4. KATIE PRUITT

Katie Pruitt kicked off the afternoon shows and reminded us how much we love daytime festivals. His expertise on stage has helped set the tone for an authentic weekend where even children are welcome to experience the festival culture.
5. HARLINSDALE FARM

Finally, we must note the idyllic character of the place. Held at Harlinsdale Farm Park, the lush green hills in front of each of the six stages are second to none. The space encourages friends and family to stretch out on a blanket or in lawn chairs for a unique listening experience.
