The actress’ next project will mark her first film directing, but luckily she had a head start thanks to Taylor Swift.

Last November, Lively goes behind the camera for the first time to lead her famous friend Taylor Swift in the “I Bet You Think About Me” music video. the video which also featured Miles Teller amassed over 37 million views and scored a few nods. Now that the actress has gotten to grips with directing, she’ll be directing seconds. The film will be an adaptation of a graphic novel of the same name of the creator of Scott Pilgrim books, Bryan Lee O’Malley.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blake Lively will direct seconds From a screenplay by Edgar Wright, the 2010s screenwriter/director Scott Pilgrim vs the world. Wright, who has also directed films like Warm fuzz, baby driver and Last night in Sohowill also produce Blake Lively’s feature debut alongside Marc Platt (The Earth, Scott Pilgrim and Revenge of a Blonde).

seconds is about a talented young chef named Katie who is given the power to undo her past mistakes by writing them down, ingesting a magic mushroom and then falling asleep. Katie becomes obsessed with her new powers and uses her dresser full of mushrooms to fix every mistake in her life she can imagine. This has unintended consequences that begin to threaten not only his life, but the fabric of space and time.

seconds was picked up by Searchlight Pictures, which is a studio known for more high-profile films. This was shown most recently with the Best Picture nominee alley of nightmaresbut other studio releases include JoJo Rabbit, nomadland, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Black Swan. It’s Awesome Blake Lively is already working with studio acclaimed and beloved Edgar Wright on seconds so early in her directing career.

Lively is also set to serve as a first-time producer on the crime drama husband’s secretin which she will also star. The film is an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name about the life of a suburban housewife shaken by a peculiar letter from her husband that she finds.

Blake Lively is married to Ryan Reynolds and has three children with him. Reynolds also went from just acting to delving into writing and producing, most notably with the dead Pool movies.
