Cheesa and Troy Laureta’s “Kaba” music video released

MANILA — The music video for Filipino-American music executive Troy Laureta’s “Kaba” featuring his sister Cheesa premiered on ABS-CBN Star Music’s official YouTube page over the weekend.
The nearly five-minute video was directed by Abel Rodriguez and produced by Luzvimin Entertainment. Singer Jake Zyrus also has a special appearance in the video.
“Kaba” was composed by Vehnee Saturno and arranged and produced by Laureta.
“It has to be said. Not only is this video beautiful, but I understand how important it was to you. How important it was to highlight not only your artistry, but also the proud Filipina women who look alike. Brown-skinned, voluptuous queens of Pinay. A voice for women who have dealt with outdated beauty standards and the image of what a pop star should be. Lots of women are going to feel seen because of you . I’m so proud of you! You’re a queen. A bad bitch. And you DID it. We did it. Together,” Laureta told her sister on social media.
“Kaba” is one of the tracks from Laureta’s second OPM album “Giliw: A Troy Laureta OPM Collective Vol. 2,” which was released last December.
Laureta, who has been recognized for her work with Ariana Grande and David Foster, has also worked with Andrea Bocelli, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Steven Tyler, The Pussycat Dolls and several Filipino artists including Jay-R, Kyla and Lani Misalucha.
