Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has announced that she plans to take a hiatus from the music industry for a few years after her next album, End of an era, decrease in August. This statement comes after the recent controversy over Azalea’s black fishing.

Azalea took to twitter to make the announcement, stating, “‘End of an Era” is so special to me because after releasing my album next month, I’m going to take a few years to focus on other creative projects and things that I feel passionate and inspired by, beyond music. I am delighted that you see different sides of me in the future.

Azalea in a later tweet, continues: “Shifting my energy and focusing on what excites me the most is what suits me best and I hope you will continue to support all of the creative projects that I am doing! I really love this album and I just want my fans to enjoy it with me. I hope to see many of you on tour!

The next End of an era, Azalée’s third studio album, does not yet have a specific release date. Azalea’s most recent single released on July 2, titled “I Am the Strip Club,” features artist House of Balmain and is a catchy rap song intended to be played in dance clubs. Along with the release, Azalea released a clip in which she takes her party on a trip, with a fiery dance routine taking place in the back of a giant 18-wheeled truck while it’s on the road.
