Kard ‘Re’: Release date, music video and all about the mixed K-pop group’s return
It’s been a while since we’ve seen our favorite co-ed K-pop group, Kard. J.seph being the only eligible Korean male, he enlisted for his mandatory military service while the band went on a sort of unofficial hiatus. While BM released singles, Somin was busy modeling and her YouTube channel and youngest member Jiwoo was turning heads on survival shows like “Double Trouble.”
Well, with J.seph finally completing his military service and being discharged in April, BM teased that Kard would be making a comeback this summer and his upcoming world tour. It looks like they’ve been true to their words as the co-ed group is set to return with their fifth K-pop mini album “Re.” Kard’s latest comeback came in the summer of 2020 with the release of their single “Way with Words” and hit single “Gunshot”. “Re” is Kard’s first comeback after their label DSP merged with Mamamoo’s label RBW, which raised high expectations.

5. ‘Break Down’ – Instrumental
6. ‘Ring The Alarm’ – Instrumental
All the members participated in the production of the songs. All four members wrote the lyrics to ‘Break Down’ while BM helped compose it. BM and J.seph also wrote the lyrics for ‘Ring The Alarm’ and ‘Whip!’. BM co-wrote “Good Love” while Kard’s new labelmate Vromance, Park Hyunkyu, helped direct “Whip!”. ‘Ring The Alarm’ returns to its roots by combining its gritty Moombahton and summer tracks like ‘Bomb Bomb’ and ‘Ride on the Wind’. “Break Down” shows a mature side to Kard as their vocals shine. ‘Whip!’ is a fun and upbeat R&B track while “Good Love” is a romantic song.
After the dark and emo concepts, Kard takes a glamorous route for “Re” dropping bright concept photos of the members in high fashion outfits, blurry photos and shiny accessories. In the first concept photo, Kard looks set to take the runway by storm in tie-dye outfits, holographic makeup and fashion-forward jewelry. For the second concept photo, they take a futuristic route with silver outfits, white and glittery makeup on a faded background.
Kard has released a music video teaser for “Ring The Alarm.” In the colorful teaser, we see the K-pop group introspecting themselves. Somin stares at an aquarium while BM leans against a car. Jiwoo looks glum as he waits for something in a cafe with pastel lights while J.seph stares at the artwork in an empty room. In the background are the instrumentals of ‘Ring The Alarm’ which has a groovy beat as the members dance along to the Moombahton track.
