Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy shares Star-Lord music videos, list of licensed tracks revealed

Eidos-Montreal presents two brand new music videos for the upcoming Guardians of Galaxy game, featuring Star-Lord’s song “Zero to Hero”.
The next Eidos-Montreal Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy The game looks pretty promising, with the all-new single-player adventure putting players in the space boots of the Star-Lord team leader. The game was first revealed at this year’s E3, with the first trailer for guardians of the galaxy confirming that an aspect of the game that arises from his MCU counterpart will be the retro ’80s soundtrack. A playgroup known as Star-Lord has original in-game tracks, with Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix sharing a set of music videos for “Zero to Hero” – a single from this playgroup. Licensed songs from the game have also been confirmed.
The decision to go for an 80s-inspired soundtrack for the game has already been discussed. Much of the music is an integral part of the experience of guardians of the galaxy, where it is described as being “infused into the DNA of the game” according to the developers. This includes the ability for the player to select their own battle themes during the fighting game. Some of the songs that will be included in the game are “The Final Countdown” by EUROPE, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears For Fears and even “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley, the full list can be viewed on the Square Enix website.
Eidos-Montreal’s two new music videos for the single “Zero to Hero” are worth a look, especially since in-game band Star-Lord is where Quill gets his name from this universe. The first of the videos is short and lively, with an art style reminiscent of other cartoons from the 80s. It looks a bit like He-Man: Masters of the Universe, and each party member travels the galaxy to face an intergalactic threat. To complement the indent nature of the video, the aspect ratio is 4: 3 and there is also a grainy VHS effect on it.
The other music video is a full version of the Star-Lord song, with action and animation segments used. However, the same aspect ratio and VHS grain effects are also present in this video. Many fans praised the clips, with some claiming they captured the spirit of guardians of the galaxy.
With all this licensed music from the ’80s in use, fans looking to stream the game might have to deal with DMCA music claims. While guardians of the galaxy has a friendly mode for streaming, it does not indicate whether or not Star-Lord’s music will be part of it. Either way, fans are already looking forward to the next adventure with galactic superheroes, and this music is clearly something to look forward to.
guardians of the galaxy launches October 26 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
