These Senior Brothers Release NFT Music Video
Chinese hip hop heavyweights Psy.P and KnowKnow, of fame from the Higher Brothers, and fellow rapper from Chengdu Ty. have teamed up with award-winning visual artist Aslan Malik to release a token-non-fungible (NFT) music video inspired by the vibes of Thailand’s sunny south.
Entitled “Phuket,” the NFT clip is being posted on Binance NFT Marketplace, according to a press release from LABS, a subdivision of Club Media. Collectors will be able to choose from five versions of the NFT, which hits the market tomorrow, September 9, for $ 99.
For those of you who are scratching your heads and wondering what it all means, here’s a bit of background: An NFT is a unique data asset stored on a digital ledger, known as a blockchain, which doesn’t is not interchangeable. NFTs can represent digital files such as photos, videos, or audio, among others.
According to the press release, 3,000 minted copies of the NFT are available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to Crypto Against COVID, a charitable initiative to help “hospitals and other institutions around the world fight the spread. of the Covid -19 pandemic.
As for the clip itself, the content is inspired by Psy.P’s 2019 vacation in Phuket, Thailand. Due to the ongoing pandemic, Psy.P and his friends were unable to revisit the tropical paradise, so he decided to pay tribute to sand, surf and sun in audiovisual form.
Psy.P, originally from Chengdu, is best known as a member of the Chinese hip hop troupe Higher Brothers and hopes the NFTs will provide more opportunities for independent musicians.
