Twinsburg singer Emyrson Flora wowed the judges in his final appearance on ‘American Idol’

TWINSBURG, Ohio — Emyrson Flora wowed the judges in her final performance on Sunday night’s episode of “American Idol.”
In the episode, the show’s top 24 contestants performed at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa located in O’ahu, Hawaii. Flora performed a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Angels Like You” for this season’s three judges: Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
“I thought that was one of my favorite performances I’ve seen,” Bryan said. “I hear the maturity in your voice and then I see you’re 16. I think you’ve been great. Your voice is so great it’s drawing everyone in. Get out of here and be confident because you you are truly amazing.
“There’s one thing you can’t teach: stage presence,” Richie said. “You can stay still, and from the moment you open your mouth, we know who you are and we are hypnotized, and that’s called a star. You have a future in this profession.
“I agree with Luke,” Perry said. “Your voice is so powerful it vibrates on a whole new level. I think you have such a great chance to be the next American Idol.
Flora began her journey on the show during an audition episode on March 21. Whether or not she progresses on the show will be revealed on Sunday, April 17 when the top 20 picks are shared, based on public voting.
